We are looking for an enthusiastic and organized individual who is interested in pursuing a career in Bid Management. You will be responsible for supporting Bid Managers in the end-to-end bid process, and for taking personal responsibility for less complex bids. You will be introduced to the use of best practice techniques to ensure proposals are both compliant and compelling, to maximise our chances of success. You should be able to work to high quality standards and clearly articulate Farrans value proposition.
This role sits within our dedicated Civil Engineering Pre-Contract team which includes professional bid managers, estimators and writers. You will work with your colleagues to prepare submissions for projects across a variety of civil engineering sectors, that typically range from £10m to in excess of £50m. Our Pre-Contract department is key to the ongoing success of the company. Therefore, we will actively support your personal development, including to achieve certification with the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP).
Responsibilities
- Supporting the full life-cycle of the bid process from Go/No Go to contract award
- Taking personal responsibility for less complex bids
- Shaping bids to achieve compliant and compelling submissions
- Support bid kick-off meetings to communicate the winning bid strategy and inform all parties of the individual responsibilities for the bid, including scope of response, timing and review process.
- Monitor bid progress, taking action to ensure compliance with the winning bid strategy.
- Encourage an integrated team approach, bringing enthusiasm and energy to the bid process.
- Write or contribute to sections of the quality response.
- Support the Farrans team in preparation of presentations for tender interviews.
- Strive for continuous improvement within the pre-construction process, including the application of best practices in bid management.
- Seek client feedback in respect of all submissions to drive improvements.
- Abide by all business compliance requirements in line with Company policies.
Qualifications
- Educated to degree or equivalent level
- Minimum of two years post-graduation experience in a relevant position
- Excellent standard of written English with an ability to articulate messages clearly and concisely
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
- Able to effectively plan own workload and that of others
- Able to work to tight deadlines in high pressure situations
