We’re seeking an experienced Product Manager to join AppCheck and help shape the future of our cybersecurity platform. This is an influential individual contributor role within our Technical Leadership team. You’ll work closely with customers, commercial and support teams, technical leads, designers and the Board of Directors to identify valuable opportunities, define product vision and strategy, and own a commercially aligned roadmap.

Location & Remote Working: This role is predominantly remote, with a requirement to come into our Leeds office 1-2 times per month.

About AppCheck: AppCheck helps organisations identify and manage cyber risk across web applications, APIs and infrastructure. AppCheck develops information security software that provides clients with vulnerability detection and reporting services for web applications and hosted infrastructure.

As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Product Manager who can develop a deep understanding of our customers, the risks they manage and the opportunities that will deliver the greatest value. As Product Manager you will be responsible for continual discovery, product vision and strategy, roadmap ownership and supporting the successful launch of new products, features and enhancements. You will shape problems and outcomes with our technical leads and designers, while delivery teams retain responsibility for managing implementation.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Realising Customer Needs: The PM will be accountable for developing insights into our customers, the risks that they manage, and discovering new opportunities to better protect them from cybersecurity threats.
  • Strategic Alignment: The PM will be accountable for ensuring that product outcomes and the opportunities selected for development align with AppCheck’s overall vision, mission, strategy and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Continual Discovery: Regularly work directly with customers, support and commercial teams to build insight into development opportunities. This includes staying abreast of developments within cybersecurity and the broader technology space, and conducting market research and analysis to support claims.
  • Vision and Strategy: As a key member of the Technical Leadership team, work closely with the Board of Directors and Team Leaders to define the vision and strategy for the product, including success measures.
  • Owns the Roadmap: Own the items and ranking of items on the Roadmap, including defining the problem, the shape of a good solution, scope limits and desired timelines. Work with technical leads and designers to shape the scope of work and objectives appropriately.
  • Manage Launch: Work closely with commercial and support teams during releases to ensure the value proposition is understood. This includes ensuring key documentation is ready, supporting demonstrations and training, and working with marketing on messaging for different channels.
Who We’re Looking For:Personal Attributes: We’re looking for a candidate who is commercially aware, customer-centric, driven, decisive and technically astute.Essential Criteria Experience:
  • 3+ years of experience in product management in B2B SaaS or Enterprise Software.
  • A proven track record of launching and managing software products.
  • Experience of working in an organisation using Agile Software Development practices such as XP and Continuous Delivery.
  • Experience of managing and prioritising effort across multiple deliverables that are in scoping/development.
  • Experience of working with cross-functional teams to discover and deliver product features that achieve the right outcomes.
Knowledge & Skills:
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to use data and narrative to drive action and decision-making with both internal/external stakeholders and delivery teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • An understanding of using Atlassian Jira for product delivery.
  • A strong understanding of how to construct a cohesive, commercially aligned product vision, strategy and roadmap.
Desirable Criteria Experience:
  • Prior experience in the cybersecurity industry in either a technical or commercial capacity; experience with automated security testing technologies such as DAST/SAST is an advantage but not a must.
  • Experience of working with Large Enterprise customers in a B2B SaaS context.
  • Experience of working with B2C SaaS/reseller networks.
  • Experience of driving product delivery for users in the global marketplace.
  • Experience with Atlassian Jira Product Discovery for roadmapping.
Knowledge & Skills:
  • An understanding of compliance frameworks such as GDPR, ISO 27001, NIS/NIS2, PCI-DSS, DORA, SOC and HIPAA, and how they impact requirements and constraints.
  • Knowledge of SQL for data analysis.
  • An understanding of the current state and capabilities of LLMs for assessing AI opportunities.
  • An understanding of the core principles of User Experience and User-Centred Design.
Qualifications:
  • Cybersecurity certifications, such as CISSP or CompTIA Security+.
  • IT certifications, such as CCNA or CompTIA.
  • An MBA or equivalent MSc.
