The organisation is guided by clear values: embracing change, being decisive and humble, acting with passion and integrity, and communicating transparently.

The Role

You will own the day-to-day running of the wholesale order book, working alongside the Head of Sales Operations.

Sitting between Sales, Merchandising, Logistics, Finance and Operations, you will keep sight of every order from placement to invoice, spot risks early and drive them to resolution.

We are looking for someone who thinks beyond the immediate task, uses sound commercial judgement and takes responsibility for what happens next.

In time, you will become the right hand to the Head of Sales Operations — trusted to keep the function moving in their absence.

What you will do

  • Own the Order Book
  • Manage the wholesale order book, keeping it accurate, current and commercially realistic.
  • Maintain visibility of orders, call-offs, amendments, cancellations, stock availability and delivery dates.
  • Keep pricing, quantities, dates and customer data correct, and challenge assumptions that do not stack up.
  • Spot discrepancies early and see them through to resolution.
  • Drive Customer Delivery
  • Progress orders along the critical path, from order through to despatch and invoicing.
  • Manage customer call-offs against delivery windows, stock availability and commercial priorities.
  • Anticipate delays and stock issues, and coordinate the response before they reach the customer.
  • Communicate risks, changes and required actions clearly to the people who need them.
  • Connect the Teams
  • Act as the operational link between Sales, Merchandising, Logistics, Warehouse and Finance.
  • Turn commercial priorities into clear operational actions, and follow them through.
  • Give the business accurate, commercially relevant information to make decisions on.
  • Challenge inaccuracies, missed actions and conflicting information.
  • Protect Conversion
  • Track current and future order book conversion, and flag where intervention is needed.
  • Identify orders at risk of slipping and agree recovery actions across teams.
  • Find opportunities to accelerate orders, consolidate deliveries or improve efficiency.
  • Support order book and conversion reviews, with clear ownership of every action.
  • Solve Problems and Improve Processes
  • Be the first point of contact for day-to-day issues affecting customer orders.
  • Investigate thoroughly, understand the wider impact and coordinate a fix.
  • Bring clear recommendations and next steps when senior input is needed.
  • Improve Navision workflows, reporting, data visibility and order controls.
  • Keep process documentation current and promote consistent practice across the team.
  • What you will need
  • Experience in sales operations, wholesale, merchandising or order management.
  • Hands-on ownership of a wholesale order book and the full order-to-delivery lifecycle.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Navision or a comparable ERP system.
  • Confidence with Excel and with using data to support decisions.
  • Commercial awareness — you understand how operational decisions affect sales, customers and revenue.
  • The organisation to hold multiple priorities at once, and the communication skills to work across every level of the business.
  • The judgement and confidence to work independently and use your initiative.

Who you are

Proactive, accountable and commercially minded.

You ask questions, challenge constructively and make decisions.

You are organised and detail-driven without losing sight of the bigger picture, and colleagues trust you to deliver.

Above all, you have the drive to grow beyond this role.

What success looks like

A clean and realistic order book.

Orders moving smoothly through call-off, delivery and invoicing.

Fewer errors and less last‑minute intervention.

Better visibility across the commercial and operational teams.

And a Head of Sales Operations free to focus on broader strategic priorities, because you have the day‑to‑day covered.

  • Salary depending on experience up to £35k along with benefits package
  • 26 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays and your birthday off
  • Aviva pension scheme with 4% employer contribution
  • Death in service and critical illness cover
  • Discretionary bonus scheme of up to 4% of annual salary
