About the role
The Finance Reporting Analyst will play a critical role in building and maintaining robust, insightful, and scalable financial reports and dashboards. You’ll collaborate closely with the Commercial Finance and Client Services teams to deliver timely and actionable insights that support decision-making and drive commercial performance.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Develop and maintain advanced Excel-based financial models and reports to track revenue, gross margin, and project profitability.
- Design, implement, and optimize Power BI dashboards for real-time reporting and visual analytics.
- Support the month-end and quarter-end close processes with accurate reporting packs and variance analysis.
- Collaborate with Account and Project Managers to understand project-level financials, budgets, and forecasts.
- Assist in automating data flows between systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, Timesheet tools) for efficient reporting.
- Translate complex financial data into clear insights for non-finance stakeholders.
- Monitor KPIs, trends, and risks, and support in preparing board-level reporting materials.
- Assist with data cleansing for system migration, working closely with key stakeholders (IT, business leads, finance teams) to ensure data integrity and availability.
About you:
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrable experience in a financial analyst or reporting analyst role, ideally in a service-based or agency environment.
- Advanced Excel skills: pivot tables, Power Query, VBA/macros, and complex formulas.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Power BI (Power Query, DAX, data modelling).
- Solid understanding of financial statements, revenue recognition, and project accounting.
- Experience working with large datasets and integrating data from multiple systems.
- Highly numerate with strong attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Excellent communication skills, with experience of conveying financial insights to a broad range of audiences.
- Strong team working skills, combined with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent time management skills, able to manage multiple priorities to meet specified deadlines.
