Apollo, a Skyward Group company, is an innovation-inspired insurance platform operating at Lloyd’s of London, delivering data-driven and creative solutions across a broad range of risks. Our name reflects our origins, inspired by one of our founding investors, Neil Armstrong, the first person to walk on the moon. The business was built with the same pioneering mindset. Since launch in 2009, we have grown into a diversified insurance group offering products across Property, Casualty, Marine, Energy and Transportation, Specialty and Reinsurance, alongside Smart Follow and digital and embedded risk programmes.

Your Role

As Systems Accountant you will support the build and optimisation of our in-house finance system across the Platform Partner Syndicates (PPS) portfolio. This role will play a key part in shaping how financial data is structured, controlled, and reported. You will work closely with Finance and Digital Solutions to ensure the system is designed to meet business needs, supports Lloyd’s requirements, and scales with continued growth.

What You’ll Do

  • Support the build and optimisation of Apollo’s in-house finance system, working closely with Digital Solutions and Partner Syndicates Finance.
  • Help embed robust data architecture, data flows, and calculation capability, with key inputs from Sun and Xuber.
  • Translate finance requirements into practical system solutions that support reporting, controls, and Lloyd’s requirements.
  • Streamline finance processes through automation, system enhancements, and improved data quality.
  • Strengthen controls and data integrity across financial reporting processes.
  • Support statutory and regulatory reporting by improving how finance systems enable accurate, efficient delivery.

What We Are Looking For

  • Finance and Lloyd’s Market Experience
ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified. Experience within the insurance sector, ideally within the Lloyd’s market. Understanding of Lloyd’s reporting requirements and finance operations.
  • Systems and Technical Capability
Experience working with finance systems in a syndicate or insurance environment. Advanced Excel skills. Working knowledge of SQL or similar database tools.
  • Process Improvement and Controls
Experience improving financial processes and driving efficiencies. Ability to strengthen controls and support audit outcomes. Focus on accuracy, data integrity, and continuous improvement.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Delivery
Comfortable working across Finance and Technology teams. Clear and confident communication style. Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver independently.

What you’ll get in return

We offer a competitive and thoughtfully designed reward package that reflects the value of our people. This includes a fair and attractive salary, discretionary bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package – including 31 days’ annual leave, a non-contributory pension and private medical insurance.

Our commitment to inclusion

At Apollo, people are at the heart of everything we do. We are a diverse, growing team of empowered experts who bring collaboration, innovation and data-driven thinking to every relationship and every risk. We believe diversity and inclusion go far beyond targets. They are essential to understanding the global communities we serve and to making better decisions. That’s why we are committed to developing diverse talent at every level and creating an environment where different perspectives are genuinely valued, supported and celebrated.
