Who we are

Apollo, a Skyward Group company, is an innovation-inspired insurance platform operating at Lloyd’s of London, delivering data-driven and creative solutions across a broad range of risks. Our name reflects our origins. Inspired by one of our founding investors, Neil Armstrong, the first person to walk on the moon, the business was built with the same pioneering mindset. Alongside Jim Hays, Neil set out to create a different kind of Lloyd’s platform, focused, agile and built around people. Since launch in 2009, we have grown into a diversified insurance group offering products across Property, Casualty, Marine, Energy and Transportation, Specialty and Reinsurance, alongside Smart Follow and digital and embedded risk programmes. Our experience and unique ecosystem give Platform Partners the best chance of success, from navigating the Lloyd’s new entrant process through to the delivery of their long-term strategy. With a team of more than 300 professionals, we continue to grow with purpose, combining underwriting excellence, innovation and collaboration to enable a more resilient and sustainable world.

Your Role

You will lead the technology transformation of Apollo’s underwriting platform, turning the agreed operating model and platform direction into a clear, deliverable roadmap. This is a senior technology delivery role focused on implementing and integrating the platform ecosystem that supports Platform Partner Syndicates. You will lead platform selection where required, oversee complex data and syndicate migrations, and establish a repeatable approach for onboarding new clients and syndicates. Working across Technology, Data, Architecture, Security, Service Operations and underwriting teams, you will bring together internal specialists and external suppliers to deliver a coherent, scalable and supportable platform landscape.

What you will do

  • Own the integrated technology roadmap across platform implementation, integrations, environments, migrations, onboarding and transition to service.
  • Lead the implementation and integration of the policy administration system and wider underwriting platform ecosystem.
  • Oversee the selection of remaining technology components, working with Architecture, Security, Data, Procurement and business specialists.
  • Define and lead a repeatable migration approach for existing syndicates, covering data mapping, cleansing, reconciliation, testing, cutover and stabilisation.
  • Establish a scalable onboarding model for new clients and syndicates.
  • Coordinate internal technology teams, software vendors, systems integrators and specialist migration partners.
  • Resolve complex design, integration, configuration, data and delivery issues across multiple teams and suppliers.
  • Own technology readiness for go-live, including architecture, data, security, testing, service support and recovery requirements.
  • Manage delivery governance, commercial oversight, dependencies, risks and executive decisions.
  • Transfer delivered capabilities into permanent platform and service ownership, ensuring Apollo retains the necessary knowledge and accountability.

What we are looking for

  • Strong experience leading complex technology transformation or platform delivery within insurance, financial services or another regulated environment.
  • Demonstrable responsibility for implementing core platforms across complex technology, integration and supplier landscapes.
  • Extensive experience of data and platform migrations, including reconciliation, testing, cutover, stabilisation and transition to service.
  • Broad understanding of platform implementation, integrations and APIs, data, cloud, security, environments and operational resilience.
  • Experience developing repeatable onboarding or implementation approaches across multiple clients, businesses, syndicates or legal entities.
  • Confidence leading software vendors, systems integrators, consultancies and multidisciplinary internal teams.
  • Strong commercial, delivery governance and technology risk management capability.
  • The ability to create clarity from ambiguity, make practical sequencing decisions and maintain accountability across organisational boundaries.
  • Experience within the Lloyd’s or London insurance market, particularly involving managing agents, syndicates, delegated authority, policy administration or technical accounting, would be beneficial.

We offer a competitive and thoughtfully designed reward package that reflects the value of our people. This includes a fair and attractive salary, discretionary bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package - including 31 days’ annual leave, a non-contributory pension and private medical insurance.
