Apollo, a Skyward Group company, is an innovation-inspired insurance platform operating at Lloyd’s of London, delivering data-driven and creative solutions across a broad range of risks. Our name reflects our origins. Inspired by one of our founding investors, Neil Armstrong, the first person to walk on the moon, the business was built with the same pioneering mindset. Since launch in 2009, we have grown into a diversified insurance group offering products across Property, Casualty, Marine, Energy and Transportation, Specialty and Reinsurance, alongside Smart Follow and digital and embedded risk programmes.

Your Role

Reporting to the Head of Capital Modelling, you will support and lead key elements of the solvency capital assessment across all Apollo-managed syndicates, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and internal governance standards. This role combines deep technical capital modelling expertise with strategic business engagement, positioning capital insight at the centre of planning, underwriting strategy and sustainable growth.

What You’ll Do

  • You will support and enhance Apollo’s Internal Model, including development, parameterisation, documentation and ongoing refinement, ensuring model governance remains robust and responsive to validation findings and regulatory feedback.
  • You will oversee and review key regulatory capital submissions, including the Standard Formula, Lloyd’s Capital Return (LCR) and Lloyd’s Standard Model (LSM), ensuring timely, accurate delivery across managed syndicates.
  • Working closely with senior leadership, you will embed capital modelling into capital planning, capital management, business planning, portfolio optimisation and reinsurance purchasing, ensuring outputs directly inform executive decision-making.
  • You will collaborate across underwriting, finance, actuarial, risk and strategy teams, communicating complex capital outputs clearly to varied audiences, and represent Apollo externally on Lloyd’s and market committees where requested.
  • Alongside this, you will maintain Continuing Professional Development and ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory and professional standards.

What We Are Looking For

  • Capital Modelling Expertise – Demonstrable experience in capital modelling with strong technical capability and a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Professional Qualification – Fully qualified FIA, equivalent, or working towards qualification.
  • Lloyd’s Market Experience – Clear familiarity with Lloyd’s market structure, operations and lines of business.
  • Regulatory Capital & Governance Knowledge – Experience of Internal Model governance, regulatory engagement and capital reporting processes.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Capability – Ability to assess complex challenges, apply structured thinking and develop practical solutions within a regulated environment.
  • Communication & Influence – Confident presence with the ability to present complex technical outputs to senior stakeholders and build effective internal and external relationships.
  • Strategic Agility – Ability to adapt to business and market shifts, using capital insight to support innovation and sustainable growth.

What you’ll get in return

We offer a competitive and thoughtfully designed reward package that reflects the value of our people. This includes a fair and attractive salary, discretionary bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package - including 31 days’ annual leave, a non-contributory pension and private medical insurance.
