Job Title: Team Leader

Location: Bristol, BS4

Duration: 12-week Temp to Perm, ongoing permanent contract available after successful 12 weeks.

Salary: £12.58 an hour, £28,142 per annum after successful 12 week temp to perm period.

Working Hours: 5 nights per week

Are you a night owl looking for a new challenge? Join our team as a Team Leader with a leading delivery company, specializing in newspaper delivery across the Exeter area.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise & Lead: Oversee warehouse activities, ensuring smooth operations and a safe working environment.
  2. Facilitate Between Operatives and Managers: Act as a liaison to ensure smooth communication and effective collaboration.
  3. Train & Develop: Provide training and support to team members.
  4. Admin & Tracking: Manage attendance, track overtime, and ensure accurate documentation.
  5. Incident Management & Improvement: Investigate incidents, identify improvement opportunities, and implement solutions.
  6. Achieve KPI Targets: Meet company scorecard objectives, driving productivity and efficiency.
  7. Audit & Documentation: Ensure all records are accurate and ready for internal and external audits, including daily QA checks.
  8. Dealing with Claims: Manage claims effectively.
  9. Communicate & Improve: Facilitate team huddles and drive continuous improvement.
  10. Maintain Standards: Ensure high standards of housekeeping and compliance with safety procedures.

Experience & Skills:

  1. Warehouse Flexibility: Demonstrable flexibility to undertake a variety of duties in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  2. Target-Oriented: Tenacious and effective in meeting and exceeding targets, delivering an outstanding client experience.
  3. Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  4. Adaptability: Positive and effective when working with ambiguity and changing commercial drivers.
  5. Efficiency & Accuracy: Able to work at pace while maintaining a high-quality output.
  6. Organisational Skills: Highly organized with a well-developed approach to prioritization.
  7. Training Capability: Ability to train operators consistently, review their progress, and provide constructive feedback.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. 2 years driving experience.
  2. Experience in van driving.
  3. Knowledge of health, safety, and security standards.
