Our Client is one of the Regions Leading contractors in the delivery of key construction schemes and due to several contract awards are looking for an experienced Design Manager to work with the Design Director . The project valuations are as standard upto £20m and the successful individual will be able to demonstrate a portfolio of working on projects of a similar size and nature as a Design Manager. Projects vary from mixed use developments to specialist warehousing and Storage facilities. The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years experience as a Design Manager and in return , the role offers a clear long term path to progress to Directorship of the business. Overview of role – * Manage the design process for the construction phase of projects, ensuring that all designs are delivered to the highest standards, within budget and timescales. * Monitor Information release, in line with the IRS * Monitor and report on RFI’s and RFI statuses. * Organise and attend Design Team meetings as required, producing minutes when requested. * Review design submissions for quality and sufficiency. * Coordinate information from Consultants, Employer’s agent and Construction Team and assist in overcoming issues and ensuring compliance. * Producing reports within Asite, monitor and co-ordinate the design produced by consultants and subcontractors. * Monitor and report on Design NCRs and associated close out. * Liaise with the wider team such as Quantity Surveyors, Buyers, Contract Managers, Project Managers, Site Managers to engender a team approach for each project. * Develop and maintain design company design standards and best practice guidelines. * Attend site to liaise with Site Managers / Contract Managers as required. * Assisting in the implementation and administration of Asite CDE throughout the business, ensuring drawings, specifications and project information are kept up to date, ensuring site teams have access to required design information both via Asite and in hard copy format * Ensure consultants and subcontract designers in following correct processes within Asite, ensuring information is correctly uploaded and tasks are closed out in a timely manner. * Previous experience working as a Design Manager or Design Co-ordinator for a Main Contractor
