Job Description
Our client is one of the UK's leading construction consultancy's that is multi faceted in facing the market with key long term relations with the top end clients within the country.\\n\\nDue to underpinned key growth, they are looking to appoint an associate Director of building surveying in the Midlands.\\n\\nJOB SUMMARY / PURPOSE\\n\\nThe Director (Building Surveying) will provide strategic leadership and direction for all building surveying activities and will oversee the operational management of a Building Surveying team. This role will have accountability for the delivery of building surveying commissions and will establish and manage effective client relationships, ensuring client expectations are always being met.\\n\\nTo develop and implement the function’s short and long-term strategies, ensuring alignment with the company’s business objectives.\\n\\n• To oversee the commercial management of multiple large-scale projects and accounts,ensuring they are adequately and appropriately resourced, delivered on time, within scope, and to budget. This includes overseeing every stage of a project lifecycle from inception to end of defects and final certificate.\\n\\n• To have accountability for year-end targets, as agreed by the Board Directors.\\n\\n• To ensure scope of service requirements are clear and always met.\\n\\n• To act as the escalation point for complex client issues.\\n\\n• To identify and manage new business opportunities and promote the business through networking and strategic partnerships.\\n\\n• To build and maintain positive relationships with key external stakeholders.\\n\\n• To oversee cash flowing internal fees across the year.\\n\\n• To oversee the management and implementation of the allocated fee tracker.\\n\\n• To oversee the management of job folders to ensure International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) compliance.\\n\\n• To oversee the development and maintenance of the marketing plan.\\n\\n• To oversee the maintenance of the account and target account plans.\\n\\n• To lead on regional public sector bids.\\n\\n• To chase clients where appropriate for cash collection to prevent aged debt.\\n\\n• To peer review all submissions within relevant projects/accounts before they are sent to the client.\\n\\n• To ensure all relevant commercial submissions are complete the day before client submission (factoring in peer review time).\\n\\n• To provide feedback to all team members on tenders submitted and lessons learnt across the commission.\\n\\n• To carry out project audits to ensure work is being completed to a high standard and is always compliant with both internal and regulatory requirements.
To provide feedback toensure continuous improvement.\\n\\n• To attend business conferences and networking events as and when required.\\n\\n• To receive and act on constructive feedback to improve performance and skills.\\n\\n• To attend regular meetings with the Associate Director (Building Surveying) and the Board Directors.\\n\\n• To participate in and suggest any Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.\\n\\n• To lead, motivate and manage a Building Surveying team to deliver high-quality results.\\n\\n• To act as a mentor to staff and offer guidance and support for professional development.\\n\\n• To identify training and development needs to enhance the skills of a Building Surveying team and wider colleagues.\\n\\n• To develop and deliver Continuing Professional Development (CPD) initiatives/training sessions as and when required.\\n\\n• To engage in training sessions, development activities, and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) initiatives.\\n\\n• To maintain up to date knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and best practices within the field.\\n\\n• To carry out team performance review meetings and 1 to 1’s.\\n\\n• To review the team’s performance objectives each year to ensure they align to the function’s business plan and the company’s objectives.\\n\\n• To provide regular feedback, coaching and support to all team members including managing any underperformance issues with individuals.\\n\\n• To attend/facilitate regular team meetings.\\n\\n• To review team workload and resource issues with the Associate Director (Building Surveying) to find appropriate solutions.\\n\\n• To identify any recruitment needs and present a business case to the Board Directors.\\n\\n• To review and approve team expenses, ensuring that they comply with both company and HMRC requirements.\\n\\n• To regularly communicate the company’s vision, values and goals to all staff, fostering a work environment that drives success.\\n\\n• To comply with and ensure all team members comply with internal policies and procedures
