Part Time Clinical Nurse Specialist – Paeds, Wolverhampton

Location: Albrighton, Wolverhampton, WV7 3FA

Salary: Up to £42,000 per annum pro rata (plus bonus)

Hours: Part Time – 22.5 hours per week

About The Role

It’s a specialist role that requires clinical expertise along with the ability to manage and prioritise workloads. We’re looking for someone who shares our values and is as passionate about care as we are. You will be based at your local Apollo Home Healthcare office in Albrighton, but some flexibility is required as you will be travelling to clients’ homes across the West Midlands and Shropshire regions.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Taking clinical ownership of paediatric complex care caseloads.
  • Creating, managing, and reviewing bespoke paediatric care plans.
  • Leading and delivering clinical training for Healthcare Assistants and Support Workers.
  • Ensuring safe, compliant, high‑quality care in line with national standards.
  • Reviewing clinical documentation, including MAR charts and care records.
  • Building strong, supportive relationships with children, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Providing ongoing mandatory training and development in line with national standards.

Skills And Experience

  • Paediatric airway management, including tracheostomy care and suctioning.
  • Ventilation management (invasive and non‑invasive).
  • Enteral feeding (PEG / JEJ / NG).
  • Experience with spinal injuries, acquired brain injuries, degenerative or neurological conditions in children is beneficial but not essential; additional training can be provided.

Requirements

  • Valid NMC PIN (Paediatric) with at least 5 years post‑qualification experience.
  • Ideally 12 months of community care nursing experience.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Strong clinical judgement and the ability to prioritise workloads.
  • Flexibility to oversee complex care packages across the Midlands region.

A Note from Our Head of Clinical: “The Clinical Nurse Specialist role offers a balance of office‑based responsibilities and meaningful time spent with children and families. You will develop bespoke care plans, build strong relationships, and upskill HCAs to deliver safe, effective paediatric clinical care. The role is predominantly Monday to Friday, 9–5, with flexibility where needed and time always given back.”
