Clinical Nurse Specialist in Peterborough

We are looking for a passionate and skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team. This role offers a blend of office-based work in Peterborough (12 days per week) and community-based visits (34 days per week) across the East and South East of England.

Main duties of the job

• Lead clinical oversight of your caseload, creating and managing tailored care plans
• Deliver high-quality clinical training to Healthcare Assistants and Support Workers
• Ensure safe, compliant and person-centred care delivery
• Review clinical documentation, including MAR charts
• Build strong, supportive relationships with service users and their care teams
• Provide ongoing mandatory training aligned with national standards

Job responsibilities

The Clinical Nurse Specialist is a role that requires clinical expertise along with the ability to manage and prioritise workloads. We are looking for someone who shares our values and is as passionate about care as we are.

You will be based at your local Apollo Home Healthcare office in Peterborough, but some flexibility is required as you will be travelling to clients' homes across the East and South East regions.

In this role, you'll:

• Take clinical ownership of your service user caseload, creating and managing bespoke care plans.
• Lead and deliver clinical training for Healthcare Assistants and Support Workers.
• Ensure a compliant, high-quality, person-centred care service.
• Review clinical paperwork and MAR Charts.
• Build strong relationships with service users and their care teams.
• Provide ongoing mandatory training and development in line with national standards.
• Audit and review clinical paperwork to maintain standards in line with CQC quality standards and regulations.
• Conduct competency assessments, as well as training, mentoring and delivering theoretical and practical training on a one-to-one basis in a service user's home and within group settings in a classroom environment.

Person Specification

Experience

• A&E or HDU experience, due to the fast-paced and complex nature of service users' needs
• Experience working with both adults and children would be highly beneficial
• Airway management (including tracheostomy care)
• Ventilation management
• Enteral feeding
• Experience delivering complex clinical interventions
• Knowledge of spinal injury care, acquired brain injury and neurological conditions is advantageous, and additional training will be provided

Qualifications

• Valid NMC Pin
• Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
• Disclosure and Barring Service Check
