Job Description:

  • Role: Healthcare Assistant
  • Location: Preston, PR2
  • Pay Rate: £14.00 – £17.50 per hour
  • Shifts: Full Time & Part Time, Days & Nights, Shift Times Vary

About Us:

At Apollo Home Healthcare, we provide high-quality, person-centred care to people in the comfort of their own homes. Every individual we support has unique needs – we tailor every care package to them, building a compassionate and skilled team around their requirements. We live and work by the 6 Cs: Care, Compassion, Competence, Communication, Courage, Commitment – and we’re looking for people who share those values.

Meet Our Client:

A fun-loving young adult with complex care needs, who enjoys laughter, playful moments, and engaging with others. He loves music, games, and connecting in his own unique way. Non-verbal with both visual and hearing impairments, he thrives with carers who are patient, compassionate, and consistent, taking the time to understand and respond to his needs. He loves to play games, listen to pop music, and finds it hilarious when staff copy his sounds – it is one of his favourite ways to interact. He also enjoys listening to Mr Tumble and Peppa Pig.

During the week, he attends college, and your role will be to support him outside of his college hours, as well as during evenings and weekends. You’ll not only be managing his care needs and clinical requirements but also offering plenty of interaction with the things he enjoys. At night, you\’ll assist with his bedtime routine, provide specialised care, and help create a calm, restful environment for sleep. Due to the complexity of his needs, we are seeking dedicated, long-term staff who can provide stability and build strong, trusting relationships. Full training will be provided to ensure you can deliver the highest standard of care. Please note: due to the nature of our vacancies, our clients have the right to request either female or male staff.

What You’ll Need:

  • 3 months’ care experience
  • Confident with medication, personal care, moving and handling
  • Clear communication skills

What We Offer:

  • Competitive hourly pay with enhancements for nights and weekends
  • Regular confirmed rotas and flexible scheduling
  • Reward & recognition programme
  • Supportive management and 24/7 on-call support
  • Opportunity to grow within a values-led, national care provider
  • Our funded training, including clinical skills, comes at no cost to you, though attendance is unpaid.

How to Apply:

If you\’re passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care and meet the requirements outlined above, we\’d love to hear from you. To apply, please submit your CV through this job board.
