We're looking for caring, enthusiastic and reliable Healthcare Assistants to support a young gentleman in Telford, helping him live an active, independent and fulfilling life at home and in the community. No two days are the same in this role. If you enjoy building meaningful relationships, encouraging independence and supporting someone to enjoy the things they love, we’d love to hear from you.

About the Role:

As a Healthcare Assistant, you’ll provide 1:1 support both at home and while out in the community. You’ll play a key role in helping him maintain his busy lifestyle, supporting him to attend activities, social events and outings that are important to him. He has a fantastic sense of humour, enjoys keeping busy and has a packed social calendar. Some of his favourite activities include:

  • Drama and dance groups
  • Pottery sessions
  • Yoga
  • Community discos
  • Watching football and cheering on Wolves
  • Enjoying trips out for a hot chocolate
  • Exploring new places and community activities

We’re looking for someone who is proactive, positive and enjoys finding new opportunities for him to access the community and continue doing the things he loves.

Your Role:

As a Healthcare Assistant, you’ll support with:

  • Personal care and daily routines
  • Moving and handling using specialist equipment, including a hoist and standing frame
  • Preparing meals and supporting with hydration
  • Administering oral medication
  • Household tasks
  • Driving his adapted manual vehicle to activities and appointments
  • Providing reassurance and recognising when he may become overwhelmed, offering calm and patient support

What We’re Looking For:

Essential:

  • Full UK manual driving licence held for at least 3 years
  • Confident driving an adapted vehicle
  • Excellent spoken and written English
  • Caring, patient and dependable
  • Strong communication skills
  • Comfortable working in a home with cats
