About the Role
Apollogrid is the UK operating subsidiary of Rahvolt Group, a fast‑growing leader in renewable energy specialising in premium solar PV systems and integrated energy storage solutions. We are looking for an experienced Solar PV Structural Surveyor / Structural Engineer with strong experience in flat roofs to join our team. The ideal candidate will be based close to our main offices in Chasington or Croydon.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive structural surveys on residential and commercial properties
- Assess roof structures, with particular focus on flat roofs, for solar PV suitability
- Perform snow and wind load calculations
- Design bespoke structural plans and recommendations for solar installations
- Interact professionally with homeowners and clients during surveys
- Ensure all surveys comply with current building regulations, MCS standards, and best practice
- Provide technical support to the installation teams
Requirements
- Degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Building Surveying or relevant field
- Minimum 3 years experience in commercial and/or residential structural surveying/engineering in the UK
- Practical experience in surveying and assessing flat roofs for solar PV installations
- Ability to carry out snow and wind load calculations
- Strong knowledge of UK building regulations and standards
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Full, clean UK driving licence
- RICS qualification or equivalent (desirable)
- Knowledge of renewable energy / solar PV (desirable)
