Act as a focal point for projects or discipline specific activities. Responsible for the technical execution of engineering projects and providing feedback to the Head of Engineering on engineering performance. Lead and input to technical and commercial bids and other engineering activities across the business streams in Oil and Gas, Sustainable infrastructure such as hydrogen and CCS and renewables. Share technical knowledge and experience with the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Engineer reports to the Head of Engineering.
  • Line management for all engineers within the assigned discipline including resourcing; accountable for the engineering competence of all team members in line with Apollo’s competence and assurance procedures.
  • Responsible for attaining discipline KPI’s set and agreed each financial year with the Head of Engineering.
  • Responsible for the delivery of all discipline engineering and design ensuring designs are fit for purpose and comply with Apollo’s HSEQ processes and procedures.
  • Accountable for strengthening existing and developing new discipline service capabilities.
  • Support and lead technical and commercial bids and other business development content.
  • Responsible for demonstrating a high technical and professional standard of work and technical leadership.
  • Lead and support discipline to deliver engineering and design of technical projects.
  • Resource management and reporting.
  • Complete annual performance reviews.
  • Work proactively to resolve issues and act as the point of contact for the discipline.
  • Promote and facilitate regular team communications to build good working relationships within the team.
  • Identify and manage discipline specific software and tools ensuring they are controlled and maintained.
  • Work with HR and the Head of Engineering to develop training and learning opportunities for the discipline.
  • Execute all engineering in compliance with industry legislation, codes and standards and Apollo’s processes and procedures.
  • Proactively seek business development opportunities through engagement with clients; work collaboratively across all business units and Business Development team to deliver in the best interests of the group.
  • Act as Principal Engineer, as required.
  • Work to be normally performed at the Company's offices but there may be requirements to work at client offices and/or offshore in occasional circumstances.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Engineering degree relevant to discipline role or relevant engineering experience.
  • Ideally chartered or actively working towards chartered status.
  • Proven technical capability for discipline.
  • Proven people and communications skills (written and verbal).
