Audit Accountant (Day Rate Contract) Reading (Hybrid Working - 3 Days per Week) Β£350 - Β£400 per day (IR35 Status to be Determined)

We're partnering with a leading global organisation to recruit an experienced Audit Accountant on an interim contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join a large international business, supporting European audit and accounting activities across multiple entities and jurisdictions.

Working within a collaborative and high-performing finance team, you'll play a key role in managing audit requirements, ensuring compliance, supporting statutory reporting activities, and liaising with both internal and external stakeholders. The position offers exposure to a complex international environment, making it ideal for a qualified accountant with strong audit and financial reporting experience.

Experience within European markets is essential, with exposure to German or Dutch entities highly desirable, although not a prerequisite.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and coordinate external and internal audit activities across multiple European entities.
  • Act as a key point of contact for auditors, ensuring timely delivery of audit requirements and responses.
  • Prepare and review audit schedules, supporting documentation and technical accounting papers.
  • Assist with statutory accounts preparation and financial statement disclosures.
  • Ensure compliance with local accounting standards, corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with finance teams across Europe to gather, review and validate financial information.
  • Investigate and resolve audit findings, control issues and accounting queries.
  • Support balance sheet reviews, reconciliations and month-end accounting processes where required.
  • Contribute to process improvements, helping strengthen financial controls and reporting accuracy.
  • Provide technical accounting support to wider finance teams and key stakeholders.

About You:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CA or equivalent).
  • Strong audit and accounting experience, gained either in practice or industry.
  • Experience working with European entities and international finance teams.
  • Good understanding of statutory reporting, financial controls and audit processes.
  • Knowledge of IFRS and multinational reporting environments.
  • Exposure to German or Dutch entities would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work across different countries and cultures.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proactive, hands-on approach and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment.
  • Available to start within a reasonable timeframe and commit to a contract assignment.
