Apointe has been exclusively retained to appoint an exceptional FP&A leader for a high-profile organisation embarking on an ambitious transformation journey. This is a rare opportunity to become the CFO's trusted partner, helping to shape strategy, influence executive decision-making and build a world-class finance function capable of supporting significant future growth.

This isn't a traditional FP&A role centred around reporting and budgeting. It's a highly commercial leadership position where your ability to translate complex data into strategic insight will directly influence business performance, investment decisions and long‑term value creation.

For the right individual, this role offers a genuine pathway to CFO.

The Opportunity:

Working as the CFO's number two, you'll lead the evolution of Financial Planning & Analysis across the organisation, partnering with senior executives to provide meaningful commercial insight that drives better decisions. You'll combine strategic thinking with hands‑on leadership, developing a high‑performing business partnering function whilst creating the financial models, analysis and performance frameworks that support a fast-paced and continually evolving business. You'll be expected to challenge thinking, influence at Board level and become a trusted adviser to the executive leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner directly with the CFO on strategic and commercial decision making.
  • Lead the organisation's FP&A strategy, driving best‑in‑class planning, forecasting and performance reporting.
  • Develop sophisticated financial models, scenario planning and investment analysis.
  • Deliver meaningful insights that influence executive and Board decisions.
  • Lead and develop an established business partnering team, creating a high-performance culture.
  • Drive continuous improvement across planning, reporting and business performance.
  • Support transformation initiatives across a complex, fast‑moving organisation.
  • Work closely with senior operational leaders to identify opportunities, challenge assumptions and unlock value.

About You:

We're looking for an exceptional finance leader who combines technical credibility with genuine commercial instinct.

You'll likely bring:

  • Significant FP&A leadership experience within a complex, fast‑paced organisation.
  • A proven track record of influencing executive stakeholders and operating at Board level.
  • Experience within Private Equity, Venture Capital-backed, listed or other high‑performance businesses.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to turn financial information into strategic recommendations.
  • Outstanding financial modelling, forecasting and scenario planning capability.
  • Experience leading and developing high‑performing finance teams.
  • A naturally curious mindset, confident challenging decisions and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (or equivalent).

Why Apply?

Opportunities of this calibre rarely reach the market. This is a chance to join an ambitious organisation at a pivotal stage in its journey, working alongside an exceptional CFO and executive team with the opportunity to influence strategy at the highest level. Alongside a salary of up to £200,000 and an excellent benefits package, you'll have the opportunity to build something genuinely meaningful whilst positioning yourself as a future CFO.

If you're looking for a role where your impact extends far beyond finance, we'd welcome a confidential conversation.
