Apointe are partnering exclusively with a forward-thinking organisation that is strengthening its finance function and investing heavily in people, processes and systems. As part of this evolution, they are looking to hire a Financial Controller, a rare opportunity for a newly qualified accountant ready to step into a leadership role and take ownership of the management accounting and reporting function.
Reporting into the UK Head of Finance, you will lead a team of three and play a central role in delivering high-quality financial reporting, improving processes, and maintaining a strong control environment across the business.
What you will be doing:
- Leading, developing and supporting a team of three within the management accounting function.
- Owning the delivery of accurate and timely weekly, monthly and year-end reporting.
- Maintaining, improving and controlling the quality of management accounts.
- Preparing subsidiary accounts for external reporting and ensuring compliance with internal policies, IFRS and relevant tax legislation.
- Managing ongoing balance sheet integrity, reviews and reconciliations.
- Driving continuous improvement across financial processes and systems, identifying efficiencies and supporting change initiatives.
- Providing ad-hoc business partnering support to operations and group stakeholders.
- Offering guidance and support to non-UK finance teams.
- Supporting the annual budgeting cycle, forecasting and wider planning activities.
What our client is looking for:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA) ideally newly qualified or in your first few years post-qualification.
- Strong technical accounting foundation β practice-trained candidates highly encouraged.
- Clear communicator with strong presentation and relationship-building skills.
