Apointe are partnering with a highly acquisitive, private equity-backed group to appoint a Finance Manager (Cost) into its evolving Group Finance function. This is a newly created role that offers genuine ownership and the opportunity to build something. The business has grown significantly through acquisition and is now investing in strengthening how costs are reported, understood and managed across the Group.

Working closely with the Group Financial Controller and wider finance leadership team, you will take ownership of the Group cost base, helping move the business from reactive reporting towards proactive cost management, forecasting and commercial insight. You'll have exposure across multiple business units, work directly with senior stakeholders and play a key role in shaping how the organisation approaches cost visibility and control going forward.

The Role: You will be responsible for owning the Group's cost reporting and control environment, partnering with stakeholders across the business to improve visibility, accountability and decision-making. Key responsibilities include:

  • Owning end-to-end reporting across the Group's overhead and operational cost base
  • Delivering meaningful analysis around actuals, budgets, forecasts and variances
  • Managing accruals, prepayments and cost-related month-end activities
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes across multiple cost centres
  • Partnering with senior stakeholders and budget holders to improve cost visibility and accountability
  • Challenging spend and identifying opportunities for greater efficiency and control
  • Developing reporting tools, dashboards and management information
  • Supporting audit requirements and strengthening financial controls
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements across reporting and cost management
  • Helping build a more proactive and forward-looking approach to cost ownership across the Group

About You: Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with a strong background in management accounting, cost management, finance business partnering or commercial finance. Experience owning budgets, forecasts and reporting across multiple cost centres. Comfortable working with senior stakeholders and influencing decision-making. Strong analytical mindset with the ability to turn data into meaningful commercial insight. Hands-on approach with excellent attention to detail. Naturally curious and motivated by improving processes, reporting and controls.
