We are seeking a highly motivated Bid Writer to join our growing Bid Team at Apogee Corporation. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in the creation of high-quality, persuasive tender responses that clearly articulate Apogee’s value proposition.
Working closely with internal stakeholders, subject matter experts, and the Sales team, you will lead the writing and editing of responses for Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs), Invitations to Tender (ITTs), and other formal bids. The role requires a strong understanding of the bid lifecycle and a flair for producing compelling, client‑focused content within tight deadlines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Analyse tender documentation to identify key client drivers and shape tailored response strategies.
- Collaborate with the team to plan and storyboard answers, ensuring compliance and maximum scoring potential.
- Take a lead role in writing, editing, and proofreading content for PQQs and ITTs.
- Translate complex technical input into clear, engaging, and customer‑centric narrative.
- Maintain and develop a library of boilerplate responses, CVs, and case studies.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather accurate and relevant content.
- Ensure submissions are presented professionally and delivered on time.
- Support the Bid Administrator in cataloguing and content management.
- Handle multiple bid submissions in a deadline‑driven environment with competing priorities.
A typical working pattern is Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 17:30, with a one‑hour lunch break. This role also offers flexibility to work from home, typically two or three days per week. This role is London‑based, with occasional travel required to our Maidstone Head Office – travel expenses covered.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED- Proven experience in a Bid Writer or similar role (preferably in managed services, but not essential).
- Full understanding of the bid lifecycle, including OJEU/PQQ/ITT and post‑tender stages.
- Outstanding written English with the ability to write, edit, and proof content to a high standard.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to ensure error‑free submissions.
- Capable of managing multiple bids and meeting deadlines under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal skills – able to liaise effectively with stakeholders across all levels.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a collaborative team.
