Apogee, an independent subsidiary of HP Inc., offers its services through one seamless point of contact. We are seeking an IT Support Technician for our Managed Desktop Services team, supporting customers with diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of laptops, desktops, RPOS systems, and related hardware. We have two options: a three‑month contract starting 3 August with a possibility of a permanent role at the end, or a straight permanent appointment from the outset.
Job Details
Hands‑on technical role with time split between onsite visits and remote support, resolving issues quickly and keeping customer systems running smoothly. Typical working pattern is Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 17:30, with a one‑hour lunch break.
Responsibilities
- Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software faults across laptops, desktops, and peripheral devices
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining operating systems including Windows and other common platforms
- Supporting users onsite and remotely, providing clear and practical guidance
- Carrying out repairs, component replacements, and system upgrades
- Troubleshooting printers, connectivity issues, and RPOS hardware
- Completing accurate job records, service notes, and repair documentation
- Following data protection, backup, and security procedures
- Escalating more complex issues when required
- Maintaining high standards of customer service and communication
- Keeping up to date with hardware tools, technologies, and repair methods
Qualifications
- Proven experience in laptop or PC hardware repair or IT support
- Strong understanding of hardware, software, and operating systems (Windows essential, macOS or Linux beneficial)
- Experience using diagnostic tools and fault‑finding techniques
- Confident troubleshooting skills across hardware and basic networking issues
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
