JOB DETAILS
This role is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check. The opportunity
As an Apprentice Technician, you will work towards a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Electrical, Electronic Product Service and Installation Engineering. This is a hands‑on, customer‑facing role where you will build the technical expertise and confidence required to progress into a Service Engineer position. You will gain practical IT engineering experience across a range of sectors, supporting customers both on site and within our operations centre. Working with high‑specification printers, laptops, and commercial hardware, you will learn how to install, configure, test, maintain, and repair business‑critical equipment. Alongside developing strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills, you will enhance your customer service capability by delivering clear communication and a professional, solutions‑focused experience.

About the apprenticeship
- Hours 8.30-5.30 Monday to Friday
- Level 3 Apprenticeship in Electrical, Electronic Product Service and Installation Engineering
- Delivered in partnership with Lincoln and Newark College
- Two‑year structured programme
- Open to applicants of all ages
Every six weeks, you will attend Newark College from Monday to Thursday, with Friday allocated to remote learning. Travel and overnight accommodation will be provided during college attendance weeks.
Location
You will be assigned to an on‑site location. Applicants should live within a reasonable and reliable commuting distance.
Right to work in the United Kingdom. Level 2 qualification in Mathematics and English Language. Applicants who do not already hold these qualifications must be willing to undertake and successfully complete the required Level 2 Functional Skills as part of the apprenticeship. Relevant experience or demonstrable practical interest in engineering, IT hardware, electronics, or a related technical field – this may include work experience, college projects, or hands‑on personal interest. Full, valid United Kingdom driving licence (or currently learning), with the ability and confidence to travel to customer sites.
Logistics
- Ability and commitment to attend block release training at Newark College every six weeks, Monday to Thursday, with Friday allocated to remote learning.
- Residence within a reasonable and sustainable commuting distance of the assigned site.
- Willingness to accept the National Minimum Wage in line with apprenticeship regulations.
