Summary: As a PC Hardware Engineer, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of PC imaging, configuration, repair, and deployment across various hardware models. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of PC hardware and software, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to optimise systems to meet business or client needs. You will work with modern tools like Intune and SCCM, and support onsite delivery to multiple locations across the island.
Key Responsibilities:
- Image Deployment: Deploy Windows OS images using tools such as Intune and SCCM, tailored to various hardware specifications.
- System Configuration: Customise operating systems and software according to company and client requirements.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve imaging and hardware issues to ensure optimal system performance.
- Hardware Repairs: Carry out PC repairs, part replacements, diagnostics, and restorations in-house.
- Onsite Delivery: Visit State of Guernsey sites to deliver and install systems, ensuring timely and effective support within agreed SLAs.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of imaging processes, configurations, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Quality Assurance: Perform rigorous checks on all systems to meet high standards of performance and security.
- Collaboration: Work closely with 3rd-party IT teams to ensure smooth deployment and support transitions.
- Inventory Management: Manage tools, parts, and software used in imaging and repairs.
- Asset Disposal: Handle data and device disposal in line with quality and environmental policies.
- Facility Care: Keep the imaging and repair centre clean, organised, and professionally presented.
NB: This role requires travel between sites on a regular basis and attendance at off-island training/events. NB: All applicants must satisfy Guernsey Government employment eligibility and background checks as well as security clearance.
