Key Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end contract logistics solutions, including warehouse layouts, operational processes, resource requirements, equipment selection, IT requirements and cost models.
- Develop innovative logistics concepts and value propositions using best-practice operational, organisational and automation solutions.
- Analyse and interpret large volumes of operational and customer data to support solution development and informed decision-making.
- Conduct capacity planning, resource modelling, productivity analysis and financial modelling to identify risks, opportunities and future growth requirements.
- Develop robust business cases and demand forecasts, ensuring proposed solutions are operationally viable, commercially competitive and scalable.
- Design and optimise process flows and operational methodologies to improve efficiency, productivity and service performance.
- Create facility layouts using tools such as AutoCAD or SketchUp to support solution proposals.
- Engage proactively in the sales process, providing technical expertise and ensuring operational integrity throughout the solution development lifecycle.
- Lead and manage solution design deliverables, ensuring risks, dependencies, issues and critical-path activities are effectively controlled.
- Build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders, influencing decision-making and securing alignment throughout the proposal process.
- Maintain strong market and product knowledge, sharing insights and best practices across the wider business.
What We're Looking For
Experience & Knowledge- Strong Contract Logistics (3PL) experience, ideally within a solution design, operations, engineering or continuous improvement environment.
- Experience within international supply chains, with a solid understanding of the key drivers that create value for customers.
- Strong warehouse and distribution operational knowledge, including automation technologies, warehouse modelling and operational design principles.
- Knowledge of logistics processes, solution design methodologies and business case development.
- Understanding of trade, regulatory, statutory, security and compliance requirements relevant to logistics operations.
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and supporting technologies.
- Advanced analytical capability with experience handling and interpreting large-scale operational and customer datasets.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with Power BI experience highly desirable.
- Proven ability to convert complex data into meaningful insights, capacity models, resource plans, productivity calculations and commercial recommendations.
- Experience in cost modelling, forecasting, demand analysis and investment appraisals.
- Ability to break down complex operational processes, identify improvement opportunities and design practical, scalable solutions.
- Customer-focused with a consultative and data-driven approach.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Comfortable operating within a matrix, multicultural organisation and building relationships across functions and geographies.
- Self-motivated, proactive and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong project ownership, organisational skills and attention to detail.
