About the Role
As an Electrical Maintenance Manager within our Maidstone branch, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and leadership of a team of electricians operating across a busy and varied NHS contract. You will provide technical oversight, ensure compliance with statutory and healthcare regulations, and play a key role in developing the electrical service across the contract. The role involves close collaboration with clients, internal management teams, and external stakeholders to deliver safe, compliant, and reliable services. You will operate across Kent, spreading your time between the office branch base in Maidstone Turkey Mill and on site with your team members and clients. You will also be the main contact for any externally subcontracted work and liaise with that subcontractor on a daily basis. Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and motivate a team of electrical operatives
- Ensure compliance with HTM 06-02, SFG, and all relevant electrical and health & safety standards
- Act as a Competent Person for electrical safety within healthcare environments (where qualified) we will support with development into this role if not already.
- Supervise electrical installations, maintenance, testing, and remedial works including large scale projects to commercial sized buildings.
- Ensure all electrical works are safe for continued use, protecting service users, staff, and the public
- Oversee health & safety standards and safe systems of work
- Support branch management, building managers, and wider operational teams
- Assist with recruitment, training, and development of electricians
- Creating and assessing quotations and workstreams.
- Support contract growth, including bidding for new works and contracts
- Attend client meetings and stakeholder events as required

Role Criteria
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, including AM2 (essential)
- City & Guilds Electrical qualification (essential)
- Competent Person trained in HTM 06-02 Electrical Safety (desirable)
- Experience working in a commercial environment (healthcare experience advantageous)
- People management or supervisory experience (essential)
- Experience supervising electricians or contractors (beneficial)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (essential)
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team (essential)
- Strong IT skills with the ability to use several different systems (essential)
- Knowledge of working in a critical NHS environment (beneficial but not essential)
- UK Driving License.
