We are looking for a Statutory Reporting Accountant to join our Finance team on a 12-month fixed term contract. This is a hands-on role covering statutory reporting, indirect tax compliance, and audit support across the UK, Ireland, and Nordics.

As part of this role, the Statutory Reporting Accountant will:

  • Prepare and review VAT returns across UK and Irish entities, including reconciliation, journal posting, and submission; support adviser-led queries from HMRC or equivalent authorities.
  • Manage CIS (UK) and RCT (Ireland) compliance obligations, including verification, monthly returns, and subcontractor reconciliations.
  • Support the preparation of annual statutory financial statements across UK, Ireland, and Nordic entities, ensuring compliance with local GAAP, FRS 102, and IFRS requirements as applicable.
  • Prepare statutory and regulatory filings required by local government authorities across the region, including statistical returns.
  • Support the external audit process by preparing audit deliverables, responding to information requests, and helping to keep the audit timetable on track.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and associated journals across assigned legal entities, maintaining accuracy and timeliness in line with the monthly close calendar.
  • Maintain and update internal controls documentation across UK and Irish entities, supporting the broader controls framework within the Governance & Control pillar.
  • Identify and contribute to process improvements across statutory and compliance workflows as the finance function continues to develop and transform.

Our Ideal Candidate Will Need to Have:

  • Part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), or a candidate who can demonstrate relevant technical experience in a similar role.
  • Hands-on working experience in at least one of the following: statutory accounts preparation (UK GAAP / FRS 102 / IFRS), VAT compliance, CIS, or RCT this is essential; candidates without practical experience in one of these areas will not be considered.
  • Experience working in a multi-entity or group finance environment.
  • Ability to work accurately and independently to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a disciplined approach to reconciliation and controls.
  • Good working knowledge of Excel; experience with ERP systems (SAP or similar) would be advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to liaise with external auditors, advisers, and internal stakeholders.

You will work 37.5 hours per week but will need to be flexible to ensure service delivery at the highest level.
