People Operations Associate
We are looking for a People Operations Associate to join us for 12 months to provide caregiver cover.
This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a high functioning team and keep our core operations running smoothly during a period of leave.
Over the next 12 months we will be working on an HRIS implementation so we’re looking for someone with hands‑on experience with HRIS design or systems migrations.
Our team creates excellent employee experiences by designing and running reliable core people processes.
We enable employees and managers by providing timely, accurate and user‑friendly information and we own core People Systems making us the guardians of data accuracy and compliance.
Each day will be different, and you’ll learn a lot about the inner operations of how a People team works.
The people lifecycle covers everything from the point someone is onboarded to offboarding and everything in between.
You’ll support owners of the people lifecycle to make sure we provide the best service to those in our internal community.
Key responsibilities
- Managing core people processes: Administering employee changes in our People systems
- Benefit sign up and opt out administration
- Issuing contractual change letters for our Monzonauts
- Managing the offboarding process for our leavers
- Issuing employment references, including regulatory references
- Supporting the compilation & checking of monthly payroll, and helping with pay queries
- Managing caregiver leave & other leave processes
- Answering general people queries for our Monzonauts
- Acting as a source of knowledge for all people policies, procedures and ways of working
- Managing our mandatory training programme, and supporting Learning & Development with administration and logistics for other required training programmes
- Supporting Monzo’s growth and expansion, responding to queries and managing robust processes across multiple EU countries
- Auditing & Controls Carrying out audit checks within core people processes to ensure the task has been fulfilled accurately
- Regular data audits to ensure our data is accurate and complete
- Ad hoc audits of critical documentation, for example: right to work documents, employment contracts, options certificates
- Process design & improvement & projects: Designing scalable People Operations workflows, supporting system migrations, and identifying opportunities to automate and optimise ways of working.
- Producing and continuously improving documentation for all people processes
- Supporting our People Partners & Advisors, Reward squad, Hiring squad and others on People wide projects
- Key qualifications
- You have great prioritisation skills.
We deal with a high volume of queries and tasks each day with varying levels of importance and different service level agreements (SLAs) to meet.
- You have great attention to detail. We’re making systems changes and issuing contracts and reference letters which have to be right first time.
- You have strong communication skills. We’re the first point of contact to our Monzonauts for all things People related and provide a delightful experience.
- You have hands‑on experience with HRIS implementations and workflow design, including supporting system migrations.
- You bring a strong understanding of People Operations requirements, can adapt processes to fit new systems, and proactively identify opportunities to improve and streamline ways of working.
- You have an automation‑first mindset. You enjoy finding ways to use AI or workflow automation to eliminate repetitive tasks.
