The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office or client sites four days per week and work remotely one day. The Associate role is an integral part of the Digital Infrastructure Investment Banking team within the Global Corporate & Investment Banking group, focused on the Digital Infrastructure subsector.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Digital Infrastructure banking team in expanding MUFG’s presence across the digital infrastructure space in lending, M&A finance, advisory, structured finance and capital markets.
  • Manage & monitor the execution of operational aspects of business origination, such as analyzing portfolio profitability, performing all follow-through of any deal origination and execution process, preparing economic capital analysis and managing customer intensive processes.
  • Liaise with Product and Sponsor coverage Groups to assist in structuring and execution of deals.
  • Primary contact for Global Network and management of Global Exposure Reports.
  • Maintain proactive, in depth, and up-to-the-minute knowledge of market trends, customer developments and credit issues including regularly maintaining industry trading and transaction comps.
  • Conduct due diligence on proposed client deals as required.
  • Assist Digital Infrastructure team with establishing and/or enhancing various internal policies and guidelines to support the ongoing developments within the digital infrastructure sector.

Essential functions and coverage

  • Execution of operational duties with regard to business origination process and deal execution including modeling, loan documentation, problem solving, transaction follow-through, market research, internal/external communications.
  • Liaison with Overseas Branches / Product Offices / Planning.
  • Preparation of value-added information for marketing materials/customer research.

Skills & Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree.
  • Corporate and Investment Banking experience with a minimum of 3 years.
  • Credit experience ideally within a product group (product experience can include leveraged finance, project finance or structured finance).
  • Experience in conducting valuation analyses (DCF, Trading and transaction comps).
  • Strong business and interpersonal skills.
  • Marketing experience preferred.
  • Financial modeling skills, Excel, Word & PowerPoint experience.
  • Credit training preferred.

The typical base pay range for this role is between $145K - $155K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
