This role will lead a team at the country level that develops, procures and manages ocean products to ensure service is executed as designed, and refined and/or made relevant to market dynamics, ensuring maximum profitability.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage and ensure procurement is aligned with all APLL process and policy
- Lead a team of Specialists in the procurement of the best rates and services available with various ocean carriers
- Participate in the tender process in collaboration with Business Development Colleagues
- Manage and perform regular product performance analysis, volume, lanes, CMM
- Minimise procurement risk for the assigned country
- Support and provide input for the Trade Lane focus program from a procurement perspective for the assigned country
- Participate in major bids and RFPs; contribute towards development of successful proposals
- Maintain pricing models that consider market factors
- Manage and ensure pricing format is 100% compliant to FMC regulation
- Participate in new product development discussions and planning to provide SME insights and inputs
- Keep up regular communication and information exchange with business partners such as carriers, transporters, brokers, key customers and industry players
Qualifications:
- Minimum 8 years of experience in similar role
- Previous experience in negotiating with carriers
- Previous experience in Ocean market, both export and import
- Strong analytical skills
- Fluency in English is required
- Self-confident individual
- Flexibility and ability to work under pressure
- Knowledge about CargoWise system is a plus
