We are currently seeking an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver with Powered Access or Plant experience to join our team based in Scotland. As an HGV Class 2 Driver, you will play a vital role in transporting our powered access equipment to and from customer sites, ensuring timely delivery and collection while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Equipment Transport: Safely and efficiently operate HGV Class 2 vehicles to transport powered access equipment, including scissor lifts, boom lifts, and telehandlers, to customer sites and between depots.
  • Loading and Unloading: Ensure the secure loading and unloading of equipment onto and from trucks, utilising appropriate lifting and securing techniques to prevent damage during transit.
  • Route Planning: Plan and navigate delivery routes effectively, considering factors such as traffic conditions, road restrictions, and customer schedules to optimise delivery times and minimise delays.
  • Vehicle Inspection: Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, checking for any defects or maintenance issues and reporting them promptly to the Transport Manager.
  • Documentation: Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly, including delivery notes, vehicle inspection reports, and any other relevant documentation, ensuring compliance with company procedures and legal requirements.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service at all times, representing the company professionally and courteously during interactions with customers and colleagues.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies while operating vehicles and handling equipment, ensuring the safety of yourself, your colleagues, and members of the public.
Requirements:
  • Hold a valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving license, with a valid Driver CPC qualification and digital tachograph card.
  • Previous experience as an HGV driver, preferably with experience in transporting powered access equipment or plant machinery.
  • IPAF 3a & 3b/Load and Unload and Plant Mover qualifications preferable but not essential as training will be provided.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and legislation governing the transport of goods by road.
  • Excellent driving skills and a clean driving record, with a commitment to safety and adherence to traffic laws and regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
  • Physically fit and able to perform manual handling tasks as required.
