Role Description
The Multi-Skilled Operator is a full-time, on-site role based in Livingston, responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining production machinery used in the manufacture of transfer products.
Daily tasks include setting up and adjusting equipment, performing routine checks, and ensuring production runs are completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.
The role involves inspecting materials and finished products, recording production data, and reporting any process deviations or equipment issues.
The Multi-Skilled Operator collaborates closely with maintenance, quality, and production teams to support continuous improvement and minimize downtime.
The position also requires adherence to safety procedures, housekeeping standards, and environmentally responsible practices within the facility.
- 3 x 12 hour shifts (Nightshift week)
- 3 x 12 hour, 1 x 8 hour shift (Dayshift week)
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining production or manufacturing machinery, ideally within printing, converting, or finishing environments.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and basic understanding of electrical or pneumatic systems, with the ability to perform routine equipment adjustments and minor troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of quality control procedures, including visual inspection, measurement checks, and documentation of production results.
- Commitment to safe working practices, familiarity with workplace health and safety standards, and consistent use of PPE and housekeeping protocols.
- Ability to read and follow technical instructions, production schedules, and standard operating procedures with high attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across production, maintenance, and quality functions.
- Flexibility to work shifts or overtime when required to meet production demands.
- Previous experience in manufacturing or industrial operations and a relevant vocational qualification or apprenticeship are beneficial.
