We're looking for an experienced Stores Manager to join our team on a 6-month fixed-term contract to provide cover during a period of long-term absence. You'll be responsible for the safe, efficient and compliant management of stores operations, ensuring materials are available to support production while maintaining high levels of inventory accuracy, customer service and operational performance. Working closely with Production, Planning, Procurement and Quality teams, you'll play a key role in ensuring materials flow efficiently through the business and that our stores operation delivers the highest standards of compliance, accuracy and support.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading Stores Operations
  • Managing the day-to-day operation of the stores function
  • Ensuring inventory is accurately received, stored, controlled and issued
  • Maintaining efficient goods-in, storage and kitting processes
  • Supporting production through effective material availability and prioritisation
  • Ensuring traceability and material control requirements are consistently met
  • Inventory Management
  • Maintaining high levels of inventory accuracy across all stock locations
  • Leading cycle counting and stock take activities
  • Investigating inventory discrepancies and implementing corrective actions
  • Monitoring KPIs and driving continuous improvement initiatives
  • Supporting the reduction of excess and obsolete inventory
  • Supporting Manufacturing Performance
  • Ensuring materials are released and kitted to production on time
  • Maintaining Kanban and line-side replenishment systems
  • Identifying and escalating material shortages and inventory risks
  • Working closely with Planning and Procurement to support production schedules
  • Leading and Developing People
  • Leading, coaching and supporting the stores team
  • Setting clear expectations and standards
  • Conducting regular one-to-ones and performance reviews
  • Developing a multi-skilled and flexible team
  • Promoting a culture of ownership, accountability and continuous improvement
  • Safety, Quality and Compliance
  • Maintaining a safe, organised and efficient warehouse environment
  • Driving 5S standards and good housekeeping practices
  • Supporting audits and corrective action activities
  • Ensuring compliance with quality, health and safety, and security requirements

Desirable Experience

  • Electronics or engineering manufacturing environment
  • Defence, aerospace or other highly regulated industries
  • Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement methodologies
