You will support products through the engineering design review gates, lead the manufacturing design reviews, and take ownership of production-readiness activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support NPI activities from concept and prototype through qualification, production release, and manufacturing ramp-up.
- Represent manufacturing throughout product development, ensuring manufacturability, assembly, test, reliability, and production requirements are considered from an early stage.
- Support electronic engineering activities, including requirements capture, design reviews, component selection, verification, and validation.
- Support product design review gates and lead manufacturing design reviews and production-readiness reviews.
- Contribute to the development of manufacturing approaches, including process flow, assembly methods, tooling, equipment, inspection, and production-test requirements.
- Plan and support prototype, pilot, and pre-production builds, resolving design and manufacturing issues through structured root cause analysis.
- Support the preparation and release of manufacturing documentation, including bills of material, drawings, work instructions, process specifications, and test requirements.
- Work with suppliers and internal teams to ensure components, materials, processes, equipment, and resources are ready for production.
- Support the implementation of design changes and maintain configuration control of product and process documentation.
- Support the handover into production and assist early manufacturing activities until the required quality, yield, and process stability have been achieved.
- Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Significant experience in electronic product development, NPI, manufacturing engineering, or product engineering within high-reliability, regulated, safety-critical, harsh-environment, or high-performance applications.
- Demonstrable experience transferring electronic products from concept or prototype through qualification, production release, and manufacturing ramp-up.
- Strong practical background in electronic manufacturing, including process development, assembly, inspection, production test, and manufacturing documentation.
- Good electronic engineering knowledge, with experience reviewing or developing schematics, layouts, component selections, and bills of material.
- Good understanding of design for manufacturability, design for assembly, design for test, and design for reliability, together with process validation, root cause analysis, engineering change control, and configuration management.
- Experience participating in cross-functional design and manufacturing reviews, with strong planning, communication, problem-solving, and hands‑on production support skills.
Desirable Experience
- Experience with hybrid microelectronics, micro circuit modules, advanced electronic packaging, chip-and-wire, chip-and-bond wire, die attach, or wire bonding.
- Experience with RF, microwave, high-frequency, precision analogue, or harsh-environment electronics.
- Experience developing or manufacturing electronics for oil and gas, aerospace, defense, space, automotive, medical, or other high-reliability sectors.
- Experience with product qualification, environmental or reliability testing, process qualification, or manufacturing‑readiness assessment.
- Knowledge of relevant IPC, aerospace, defense, or high‑reliability electronics standards.
- Familiarity with process FMEA, control plans, APQP, PPAP, Lean, Six Sigma, or similar NPI and continuous‑improvement approaches.
- Experience working with external suppliers, subcontract manufacturers, or specialist process providers.
- Other Requirements
- You must be eligible for full security clearance.
- Occasional travel may be required for supplier, customer, or project engagement.
