In this finance generalist role, you will support our SVP of Finance and Business Leaders across all areas of the finance function while taking the lead on key initiatives and statutory requirements. You will lead a team, driving high performance and focusing on continuous improvement through automation.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Accounting & Statutory Compliance (50%): Lead the yearly accounts preparation â setting the right processes and controls in advance. Prepare monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and UK GAAP and liaise with external accountants. Meet the tax (VAT, R&D etc.) requirements and deadlines for UK, US and India. Ensure compliance with VAT regulations in recording all transactions. Be proactive so all compliance matters are in order. Work with advisors to prepare the annual R&D tax credit submission. Work with Company Accountants to ensure the company yearâend statutory accounts are prepared on time. Manage transactional accounting, bookâkeeping, VAT and payrollârelated matters along with our external Accountants. Maintain the integrity of the financial ledger.
- Financial Planning & Analysis (30%): Maintain the integrity of the financial ledger. Manage the weekly analysis of cashâflow movements and provide shortâterm cashâflow forecasting information with scenario analysis. Undertake balance sheet and bank reconciliation and consolidation. Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets.
- Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable (10%): Oversee company revenue and expenditures including the billing process. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, providing support to our Finance Assistant where needed. Manage and control our credit control function including managing aged creditors.
- Payroll (10%): Manage the full payroll cycle including P11d's in partnership with our Payroll Vendor.
ABOUT YOU
- You have at least 1 year of experience in a fastâpaced startup or scaleâup environment, where you've successfully worn multiple hats.
- You bring solid experience from audit: You've spent around 3â5 years at a top 10 UK accounting firm and are ideally ACA or ACCA qualified. Requirements like IFRS/UK GAAP come secondânature to you.
- You understand what 'good' looks like and are able to dive into the details when needed, while also thinking strategically about the bigger picture.
- You can simplify complex information, build trust, and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- You are highly organised and efficient, able to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- You take a proactive, solutionâfocused approach with a continuous improvement mindset.
- You take the time to understand our financial ecosystem and bring fresh ideas to continuously enhance and evolve our finance function.
- If you've used Oracle NetSuite before, that would be ideal.
- You have a strong commercial mindset, able to identify opportunities, optimise performance, and add value across the business.
