This is an early career role offering exposure to the full commercial lifecycle, from researching new markets and generating opportunities to supporting proposals, merchant onboarding and implementation.

Working closely with the Head of Sales & Partnerships, the Chief Commercial Officer and senior members of the Sales team, you will help strengthen our sales pipeline, improve commercial processes and ensure opportunities move effectively from initial engagement through to delivery. The role would suit someone who is organised, proactive and eager to build a career in business development, sales or commercial management within fintech and payments.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Research target markets, prospective merchants and new commercial opportunities.
  • Build and maintain prospect lists for priority sectors (Travel/Airlines/Retail) and territories (EMEA).
  • Support outbound business development activity across email, LinkedIn and other channels.
  • Qualify inbound and outbound opportunities and coordinate introductory meetings.
  • Help develop clear value propositions for new verticals and customer segments.
  • Support the Head of Sales & Partnerships and CCO with go‑to‑market planning and strategic commercial projects.
  • Assist senior Sales team members with presentations, proposals and merchant communications.
  • Coordinate responses to RFP’s working closely with Product, Technology, Legal and other internal teams.
  • Gather merchant requirements and ensure they are clearly documented and understood by relevant stakeholders.
  • Support commercial governance, internal approvals and the preparation of customer documentation.
  • Maintain accurate opportunity, activity and customer information within the CRM.
  • Help coordinate the transition of merchants from Sales into Integration, Implementation and Customer Success.
  • Track actions, dependencies and priorities to help opportunities progress efficiently through the sales lifecycle.
  • Identify opportunities to improve commercial processes, documentation and ways of working.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Prior experience in business development, sales, customer success, commercial operations or a related area, gained through employment, an internship or a placement.
  • A strong interest in fintech, payments, technology or B2B sales.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Confidence working with colleagues and stakeholders across different business functions.
  • A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership of tasks.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • A curious and analytical mindset, with an interest in understanding customer needs.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.

IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAD:

  • Experience using a CRM platform such as Salesforce or HubSpot.
  • Exposure to payments, SaaS or another technology startup.
  • Experience conducting market or customer research.
  • Experience preparing presentations, proposals or other commercial documents.
  • An understanding of B2B sales processes or customer onboarding.

DURING YOUR FIRST 12 MONTHS, YOU WILL:

  • Develop a strong understanding of APEXX’s products, customers and target markets.
  • Contribute to the creation of a well‑researched and qualified sales pipeline.
  • Become a trusted source of support for the wider Commercial team.
  • Help improve the quality and consistency of proposals, RFP responses and commercial documentation.
  • Support smoother handovers between Sales, Product, Integration and Implementation.
  • Take increasing ownership of early‑stage opportunities and commercial projects.
