Overview
Hiring an OutSystems Software Developer to design, build, and deploy secure, scalable web/mobile applications on the OutSystems low‑code platform for an energy client. Work spans asset/process digitization, field mobility, operations dashboards, and integrations with industry systems (AMI/MDM, SCADA/EMS, ETRM). Collaborate with Product, BA, QA, Security, and DevOps to deliver compliant, high‑availability solutions in an agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Out Systems reactive web/mobile apps for workflows such as outage reporting, field service, asset maintenance, customer self‑service, and trading/operations dashboards.
- Design robust data models and business logic; implement responsive UIs and client/server actions in Service Studio.
- Integrate with energy systems and data sources: AMI/MDM, SCADA/EMS, GIS, ETRM/CTRM, CRM/Billing, and data platforms; build REST/SOAP/DB connectors with secure authentication.
- Optimize performance for high‑volume telemetry and time‑series data (caching, pagination, indexing, async jobs, batching).
- Implement security aligned to enterprise and regulatory requirements (RBAC, least privilege, audit trails, PII protection); support incident and defect resolution.
- Automate deployments across Dev/Test/Prod using LifeTime/CI‑CD; maintain environment configs and feature toggles.
- Contribute to documentation, reusable components, and adherence to SDLC and change‑management processes.
- Participate in agile ceremonies; provide effort estimates and stakeholder demos.
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong SQL and data modeling; ability to tune queries and aggregates for large datasets and time‑series patterns.
- API integration expertise (REST/SOAP), including auth (OAuth2/JWT/SAML), retries/backoff, idempotency, and error handling.
- Secure coding and compliance mindset (RBAC, input validation, secrets management, audit logging).
- Experience with LifeTime deployments, environment promotion, and basic CI‑CD with Git-based workflows.
- Clear communication, documentation, and agile delivery experience.
Nice to Have
- OutSystems certifications (Associate/Professional Reactive, Mobile, Architecture, Tech Lead).
- Energy/Utilities exposure: AMI/MDM, SCADA/EMS, GIS, ETRM/CTRM, CRM/Billing, market communications, or ISO/RTO interactions.
- Familiarity with data platforms and monitoring: time‑series stores, Azure/AWS services, App Insights/New Relic, and performance tuning at scale.
- Test automation (OutSystems Test Framework, Postman/Newman) and quality gates in CI‑CD (Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions/Jenkins).
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations: NERC CIP, ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR/PII, SOX; experience with change control in regulated environments.
