Apexon is seeking a skilled and driven IT Business Analyst to support a large-scale data platform consolidation programme for a leading client within the Energy & Utilities sector. This is a high-impact role within a complex transformation programme. You will work at the intersection of business and technology — partnering closely with senior stakeholders, technical SMEs, and delivery teams to shape, define, and translate business needs into structured, actionable solutions. The ideal candidate is confident in stakeholder engagement, structured in approach, and comfortable operating within fast-paced, evolving delivery environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Elicit, analyze, and document clear, traceable business requirements with well-defined acceptance criteria.
- Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, and remote discovery sessions to gather and refine requirements.
- Produce high-quality analysis artefacts including: Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Specifications, Process Models (BPMN 2.0), Scoping and impact assessment documents.
- Collaborate with technical data SMEs to ensure business requirements are accurately translated into scalable technical solutions.
- Work closely with programme delivery teams to maintain alignment between implementation and business priorities.
- Provide structured updates to delivery leadership, clearly articulating progress, risks, blockers, dependencies, and RAID items.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring clarity and traceability throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Build and maintain trusted working relationships with stakeholders across all levels of the organisation.
About You – Skills & Experience
- 2–5 years’ experience as a Business Analyst within an Agile software delivery environment.
- Strong experience in requirements elicitation, process analysis, and structured documentation.
- Proven ability to lead workshops and drive effective stakeholder engagement.
- Experience with process modelling tools (e.g., BPMN 2.0).
- Working knowledge of backlog and defect management tools (JIRA, Azure DevOps, TFS).
- Solid understanding of SDLC and Agile delivery methodologies.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated and capable of working both independently and collaboratively.
- Degree in Business, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred
- Experience within the Energy & Utilities sector.
- Exposure to data-focused programmes or collaboration with data engineering teams.
- Background in consulting or client-facing delivery environments.
