About the role: We’re looking for an Associate Cloud DevOps Engineer to support the design, automation, and operation of our cloud runtime platforms. You’ll contribute to infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, observability, and reliability efforts while learning from senior engineers and collaborating with application teams, Tech Risk, and vendor platforms.
What you will do:
- Support the design and operation of AWS infrastructure (EC2, VPC, IAM, RDS, Lambda/ECS/EKS) using CloudFormation and AWS CDK.
- Assist in CI/CD pipeline development and maintenance (GitLab CI/Jenkins/GitHub Actions/AWS Code Pipeline).
- Contribute to observability efforts including metrics, logs, traces, and alerting systems.
- Participate in incident response and post-incident reviews; help reduce MTTR through automation.
- Automate operational tasks using TypeScript and scripting languages; codify ops playbooks.
- Help implement security controls including secrets management, network segmentation, and firewall policies.
- Collaborate on cost optimization strategies and performance tuning.
- Learn and apply best practices across Dev, Runtime, and vendor teams.
- Support Kafka–based eventing and MongoDB–backed services as needed.
Qualifications:
- 2–4 years’ experience in DevOps/SRE/Platform Engineering with production AWS experience.
- Experience with CloudFormation and AWS CDK; solid Linux fundamentals and shell scripting.
- CI/CD pipeline exposure (GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or CodePipeline).
- Containers and orchestration (Docker, EKS/ECS); understanding of progressive delivery.
- Proficiency in TypeScript for automation.
- Solid understanding of networking and security (VPCs, routing, security groups, firewalls).
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
- AWS certification preferred (e.g., AWS DevOps Engineer, AWS Solutions Architect).
Preferred qualifications:
- GitOps (Argo CD/Flux) and service mesh fundamentals; APM/RUM (Dynatrace/New Relic).
- Operating Kafka and MongoDB in production; experience with microservices & distributed systems.
- Experience in regulated environments (financial services), with audit and control practices.
- PagerDuty administration and on-call program exposure; cost governance/FinOps familiarity.
- Proficiency in Python (or Bash/Go) for automation.
- Familiarity with observability stacks (CloudWatch, Prometheus/Grafana, Splunk/ELK, Datadog) and alerting practices.
