YOUR NEW ROLE, WHAT\’S INVOLVED?
WSP is seeking a Contracts Responsible Engineer (CRE) that specializes in Rail Drainage, with experience working on Network Rail assets to lead the Rail Engineering team within Water. Working in conjunction with the Drainage Lead to help develop and support clients and projects throughout the UK with a focus on high-profile rail and aviation projects.
Responsibilities
As acting rail drainage service line lead, and reporting directly to the WSP UK Drainage Management team, you will be responsible for:
- Delivery and design assurance of a wide variety of rail drainage projects.
- Lead client relationships and attend client progress meetings.
- Manage a team of rail drainage engineers, supporting their technical development and ensuring they are resourced on projects.
- Delivery of projects from concept through to completion and ensuring they are delivered to a high technical standard, in a timely manner and with commercial success.
- Delivering a broad range of drainage services for the most significant transport and infrastructure projects in the UK.

WED LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer and/or degree qualified (role dependent).
- Extensive and proven experience post-degree in designing drainage solutions.
- Knowledge and understanding of drainage design principles and solutions to manage rail drainage.
- Experience in the use of Bentley Microstation or similar.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Proven knowledge of relevant technical standards, UK Building Regulations, Design Standards, Codes of Practice, and Health & Safety regulations.
- Successful management of projects/programmes and teams to meet both quality and commercial targets.
- Technical experience in the following areas:
- Rail Drainage
- Airport Drainage
- Asset Management
