About Apex Workwear

At Apex Workwear, we are dedicated to providing high-quality, durable, and compliant workwear and personal protective equipment (PPE) to businesses across multiple industries. We pride ourselves on exceptional service, rapid delivery, and building long-lasting partnerships with our clients. As we continue to expand our market presence, we are looking for a driven and strategic sales professional to join our team and directly accelerate our financial growth.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and commercially aggressive Business Development Manager with experience in the workwear and PPE sector. This is a dynamic hybrid role, requiring you to balance strategic in-office work with regular field travel to meet prospective clients and serve as the face of Apex Workwear. Leveraging your existing industry knowledge to capture new market share, you will not just be making sales; you will be taking ownership of ambitious targets and making a measurable, substantial impact on our overall company revenue. A critical component of this role involves identifying, writing, and successfully bidding for lucrative commercial and public sector tenders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive Revenue Growth: Take ownership of aggressive sales targets, acting with an entrepreneurial mindset to directly impact the company's top-line revenue and scale the business.
  • Generate New Business: Proactively identify, target, and secure new B2B accounts through cold calling, networking, and direct outreach within the uniform and PPE space.
  • Hybrid Sales & Pitching: Effectively split your time between working in the office to build strategy and manage your pipeline, and traveling out in the field to conduct targeted product demonstrations and negotiate high-value contracts face-to-face.
  • Manage the Tender Process: Lead the end-to-end bid and tender process, from identifying relevant opportunities to writing compelling proposals and delivering final presentations.
  • Pipeline Management: Maintain a robust, accurate, and high-yielding sales pipeline, tracking all interactions and progress using our CRM system.
  • Market Analysis: Utilise your industry expertise to stay ahead of competitor activities, compliance shifts, and regulatory changes within the workwear sector to maintain a competitive edge.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Workwear & PPE Expertise: Mandatory, proven experience selling workwear, corporate uniforms, or PPE, with a thorough understanding of industry standards and client pain points.
  • Revenue-Driven Mindset: Fiercely motivated by financial targets and scaling business revenue, with a clear history of making a substantial commercial impact in previous roles.
  • Proven Hybrid/Field Sales Record: A demonstrable track record of generating new business and consistently exceeding sales targets in a B2B environment, comfortable seamlessly transitioning between office-based work and face-to-face client meetings.
  • Tender & Bid Writing: Direct, hands-on experience in sourcing, preparing, and successfully winning commercial or public sector tenders.
  • Commercial Acumen: Strong negotiation, presentation, and closing skills with the ability to communicate value propositions effectively to procurement teams and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Mobility: A valid driver's license and a willingness to travel regularly for prospect meetings and site visits, while maintaining an active collaborative presence in the office.

What We Offer

  • Competitive Base Salary: Commensurate with your industry experience.
  • Uncapped Commission Structure: Highly rewarding, aggressive bonus scheme directly tied to your revenue impact and new business generation.
  • Car Allowance: Fully expensed travel for your client meetings and field-based activities.
  • Tools for Success: Initial training, company laptop and comprehensive CRM support.
  • Career Progression: Clear pathways for professional development and leadership as our business continues to scale.
