Role Overview: This role supports a UK Public Sector business by delivering personnel security and managing the daily administrative duties of a secure facility. This position offers an opportunity for a proactive individual to develop new skills within an established team. The role is based full-time in Reading, with the possibility of occasional travel to a London office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process BPSS and SC vetting applications and support general vetting administration.
- Deliver a range of security-related administrative activities.
- Act as the primary security point of contact for facility users and visitors.
- Manage and action items from group mailboxes for vetting and secure facility support.
- Verify the legitimate and compliant use of the facility.
- Escort contractors during maintenance and related activities.
- Provide office cover for the security team as needed.
- Assist with security audits, inspections, and reviews.
Required Qualifications:
- Must have lived in the UK for the last 5 years and be able to hold a minimum of SC security clearance.
- Experience in a business administration environment.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to identify opportunities to support colleagues.
- Professional communication skills, with the confidence to engage effectively at all levels.
- Ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, and prioritize tasks.
- Collaborative team player with effective relationship-building skills.
- Trusted to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools, including Outlook, Word, Teams, SharePoint, and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the Defence Sector, Central and Local Government.
- Knowledge of the UK National Vetting System.
- Experience with CRM systems or general office duties.
