Job Overview
Apex Scotland is a leading employment and training organisation specialising in supporting people with convictions. We are seeking a full‑time Practitioner (35 hours per week) to join our National Upside Service covering the Tayside area.
Responsibilities
- Provide throughcare support to people in short‑term custody or remand, helping them transition to community life.
- Collaborate with the Scottish Prison Service, Community Justice Social Work and other agencies across Scotland.
- Complete dynamic risk assessments and follow safeguarding practices.
- Deliver a tailored, person‑centred engagement experience to participants.
- Maintain accurate databases and record‑keeping.
- Travel as required throughout the country.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Experience working in a community environment.
- Knowledge of throughcare support and/or criminal justice systems is an advantage.
- Ability to work collaboratively with participants, prison workers, SPS, social work and partners.
- Excellent communication, flexibility, and organisational skills.
- Valid driving licence or access to reliable transport.
- Membership of the Prevention of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme required.
- May require evening or weekend working.
