Overview Due to growth we are currently recruiting for Welder Fabricators on behalf of one of the UK’s leading design, supply and install experts for all types of building facades. They design, supply and install stainless steel building components. The main sectors they operate in are commercial, residential and rail. Recent projects include the likes of Shopping Centres, Luxury Housing, Train Stations, Universities, Wakefield Trinity Rugby Club, Banks, Offices etc. Operating over 10 years, they are based in Wakefield and are also part of a larger construction group. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and be proficient in various welding techniques, including stick welding. This role involves assembling and fabricating metal components to meet precise specifications, ensuring high-quality standards are maintained throughout the production process. Stainless Steel 304 & 316 – Mig welding – Tig would be preferable but not ideal. From 0.9mm to 12mm. This is a permanent position, based in Ossett, paying £33,280 per annum. It is working Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. You will receive 1 hour breaks throughout the day. You will receive 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays. Pension. Overtime is available. Responsibilities * Fabricate and assemble metal structures and components using hand tools and power tools. * Perform welding tasks, primarily using stick welding techniques, to join metal parts securely. * Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine project requirements and specifications. * Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet industry standards and client expectations. * Maintain a clean and safe working environment by adhering to health and safety regulations. * Utilise basic maths skills to measure, cut, and shape materials accurately. * Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance productivity. Skills & Attributes * Proven experience in fabrication and welding, with a strong understanding of sheet metal work. * Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to the fabrication process. * Solid mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise. * Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work. * Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating effective communication skills. * A valid welding certification is preferred but not mandatory; willing to learn is essential.
