We are currently recruiting for an Electrician on behalf of a bespoke electrical and mechanical engineering company who manage the complete mechanical engineering process including design, manufacture and commissioning. They mainly work within Water Utilities. Operating over 35 years, they are a family owned organisation who have gained a reputable name within the industry for their high-quality work and excellent customer service. They have a client base which boasts some of the biggest names in the engineering sector. Mainly working within the Waste Water and Clean Water industries they provide a range of services including surveying through to design, fabrication, installation and implementation.
The Electrician will hold a technical role within the company and should set examples of excellent conduct and professionalism. The position is primarily a service and support role of the Company’s product range which is installed on wastewater treatment plants through the UK. Installation and commissioning works will also be a requirement for the Company’s product range as well as telemetry systems, instrumentation, and control panels. This is a permanent position reporting to the Leeds office, working Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:30pm with a 4pm finish on a Friday. The salary is paying £40k - £43k per annum. Perks include Van & Fuel Card, private use of van, door to door travel, overtime, pension, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, training & development etc. This role is mainly site based and involves daily travelling and some overnights. Travelling and overnight stays are essential for this role. Ideally we are looking for someone South Yorkshire based as they would be covering Severn Trent Wastewater sites (amongst others).
Responsibilities
- Carry out electrical installation work to BS7671 or its equivalent.
- Carry out installation, service and repair to a variety of low voltage electrical control systems.
- Carry out installation and commissioning of a variety of instrumentation & control systems, controllers including flow, solids, pH, pressure, levels & actuated knife gate valves.
- Carry out installation and commissioning of a variety of instrumentation & control systems sensors.
- Be capable of carrying out mechanical assembly/modification of pipework assemblies where minor blockages have occurred, modifications are required or replacement of leaking pipe sections.
- Routine maintenance calls with probe cleaning.
- Conduct planned preventative maintenance and calibration of instruments on companies product range.
- For individual projects, they will report to the assigned Project Manager, however, dependent on experience they could be expected to accept ownership of certain lower valued contracts.
- Can be suitably trained to undertake calibration / verification of solids metering and Instrumentation.
Skills & Attributes
- Water industry experience (preferred)
- 18th Edition Qualified or other relevant electrical qualification.
- ECS Gold Card.
- Ability to fault find, diagnose and resolve technical issues.
- Ability to work independently and unsupervised.
- Good customer service skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- An excellent understanding of Health and Safety.
- PC Literate.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
