We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter on behalf of a bespoke electrical and mechanical engineering company who manage the complete mechanical engineering process including design, manufacture and commissioning. They mainly work within Water Utilities. Operating over 35 years, they are a family owned organisation who have gained a reputable name within the industry for their high-quality work and excellent customer service. They have a client base which boasts some of the biggest names in the engineering sector. Mainly working within the Waste Water and Clean Water industries they provide a range of services including surveying through to design, fabrication, installation and implementation.
The Fitter will hold a technical role within the company and should set examples of excellent conduct and professionalism. For individual projects, they will report to the assigned Project Manager. This is a permanent position, covering Eastbourne, working Monday to Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm. The pay rate is £19 - £23 per hour depending on experience. Perks include van & fuel card, private use of van, door to door travel, overtime, discretionary bonuses, pension, wellness plan, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, training & development.
Responsibilities:- Adhere to Companies Policies, Procedures & Legal Practices.
- Adhere to the Companies Health & Safety Policies & Procedures.
- Adhere to the Companies Quality Management system.
- Adhere to the site‑specific rules & regulations & to leave sites clean & tidy.
- To follow, read & sign the RAMS (Risk & Method Statements).
- Be able to read, understand and follow design drawings 2D/3D.
- Mechanical Installations & Repairs including Pumps, Fans & Gearboxes.
- General Steel Work, Handrail, CAT Ladders, Platforms.
- Water industry experience (preferred).
- Full mechanical apprenticeship or qualifications.
- CSCS Card.
- Understand Engineering drawings.
- Ability to work independently and unsupervised.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- An excellent understanding of Health and Safety.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
