Job Description
Overview\\nDue to growth, we are currently recruiting for a HIU Engineer on behalf of a fast growing company who design, build and operate district heating networks. This work is for communities, towns, and cities. They work with local authorities, developers, house builders, and property owners.\\nOperating for over 10 years, they have a number of offices in the UK and also overseas.
Their services include the design, installation, maintenance and management of plant rooms and heat networks on behalf of local authorities and property developers.\\nThey are a fast-growing business who are looking to invest and deliver over £1bn of heat network projects in the coming years.\\nThe successful candidate will have a strong competency within the HIU field. You will be responsible for delivering operation and maintenance services across their fleet of heat networks. They need to have experience servicing HIU's of various manufacturers, and able to fault find and replace parts comfortably.
Experience in district heating networks is preferred but not essential.\\nThis is a permanent position, based in London, and is paying £42k – £50k per annum. Other benefits include van & fuel card, annual bonus, overtime, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, company pension, private healthcare, training schemes and development opportunities. It is working Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.\\nThe compact nature of the business and rapid growth means that the candidate has significant opportunity to develop their career in a friendly environment working with and alongside a broadly experienced team of commercial professionals of varying levels.
The role does have involvement in an on call rota, so the successful candidate will be expected to work on this on call rota. Any hours worked whilst on-call are paid at overtime rates (1.75x hourly rate).\\nResponsibilities\\n * Working under the direct supervision of our Lead HIU engineer.\\n * Completion of planned preventative maintenance activities in line with company maintenance schedules.\\n * Servicing HIUs and repair works.\\n * Attend reactive callouts to sites to reinstate heat and resolve HIU failures.\\n * Take part in an on-call rota and attend callouts (typically 1 week in 4)\\n * Review root causes for plant failure (resolve operational issues which arise)\\n * Management of site-based project work and development of the scope of works for plant remediation.\\n * Safe isolation of equipment before commencing works.\\n * Ensure your own system records are kept up to date to ensure accurate and secure records.\\n * Can assist with 1 and 12 monthly mechanical PPM checks within plant rooms.\\n * Carry out in house training.\\n * Assist in preparing commissioning procedures.\\nSkills & Attributes\\n * Previous experience working on HIU’s.\\n * Knowledge of heat network energy centres and plantrooms.\\n * Able to read technical drawings e.g., P&IDs & mechanical schematics.\\n * Electrical competency (basic) preferred.\\n * Good communication and customer service skills.\\n * The ability to work independently and use your own initiative.\\n * An eye for detail and a desire to work to a very high standard.\\n * Full UK Driving License.\\nNote:- Apex Resourcing Solutions are acting as an Employment Agency
