Overview Due to growth we are currently recruiting for a Mobile Fire & Security Engineer on behalf of a security installation, fire safety and maintenance business delivering projects across the UK and internationally. Established over 35 years, they are a UK leader in fire, safety and security solutions. They have over 140 members of staff working for them. They work in a range of sectors including government, commercial, domestic, education, banking, hospitality, leisure, retail and manufacturing. As the Service Engineers you will provide first-line technical support, reactive maintenance, and service support to the clients. The role demands a proactive individual with a strong background in fire, security systems and access control. This is a permanent position and we are looking for candidates based near Bedford and London. It is working Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week. 8.30am β 5pm Monday to Thursday / 8.30am -4pm Friday. The salary is paying Β£40k per annum. Perks include van & fuel card which can be used for private use, overtime, bonus, pension, medical insurance, 23 days annual leave plus bank holidays and a 1 in 6 call out rota. They have recently introduced a sickness incentive β An employee can earn up to four days extra annual leave by not being off sick. No sickness within a quarter = 1 Extra Days holiday. If at the end of the 12 month period an employee wonβt use extra holiday earnt the company will buy back x4 days. Responsibilities * Provide first-line technical support to clients, addressing and resolving issues efficiently. * Diagnose and troubleshoot problems related to fire and security systems, ensuring minimal downtime. * Maintain detailed records of service calls, repairs, and maintenance activities. * Conduct regular maintenance and servicing of fire and security systems in accordance with industry standards and company protocols. * Perform system upgrades and modifications as needed to ensure optimal performance. * Ensure all systems are compliant with current safety regulations and industry standards. * Respond promptly to reactive maintenance requests and emergency call-outs. * Collaborate with service coordinators to provide clear updates on service progress and estimated resolution times. * Establish and maintain strong working relationships with clients, offering expert advice and support. * Prepare detailed reports on system performance, maintenance activities, and any identified issues. * Ensure all documentation complies with company policies and industry regulations. Skills & Attributes * Trade qualifications in Fire and Security Systems & Electrical competencies. * Previous experience in the fire and security systems industry. * Ability to work independently and unsupervised. * In-depth knowledge of enterprise access control systems including on premises and cloud systems. * Comprehensive understanding of security and/or fire industry products and applications. Proven experience in technical support, maintenance, and reactive service roles. * Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Valid UK driving license.
