Overview Due to expansion we are currently recruiting for a Contracts Manager on behalf of a specialist company who design and build water and wastewater treatment equipment. Operating for over 125 years, they are a well-respected name within the industry who continuously work to high standards to satisfy their clientβs needs. They now have offices in over 5 countries including their UK office which is based near Rochdale. The company manufacture a range of equipment including screw pumps, aerators, fine screens and screw turbines, and have installed thousands of these products. We are looking for a motivated and experienced Contract Manager to join the team, taking full responsibility for projects and contract installations from handover to completion. The projects involve a wide mix of mechanical and civil works, and you will be fully supported in understanding the technicalities of the sector. The role will involve travelling to sites in the UK for pre-start meetings and planning/checking of works, which can include overnight stays periodically. This is a permanent position, working Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week, paying Β£50k per annum. Perks also include 25 days annual leave + bank holidays + generous defined contribution pension of 10% + medical insurance etc. Role Description * Client communication β building strong relationships with clients, through face-to-face meetings, phone calls, and using email as appropriate. * Contract management β understanding and confirming scope of works, ensuring all timings, practicalities and changes are agreed with the client and documented, including prices for compensation events. * Project execution β plan and execute the project, organising resources, suppliers, and agreeing labour usage with the Operations Manager. Deliver the documentation package for each project, including Programme of Works, risk assessments/method statements and quality documents. * Financial control β maintain oversight of project finances, delivery against budget costs, issuing out requests for invoices/applications to the Finance team. Skills & Attributes * Preferably Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or similar. * Background in water treatment industry is desirable but not essential. * Ability to manage technical details in contracts (experience in NEC3/4 ideal but not essential), engineering drawings and site installation. * Close attention to detail, identifying points of risk / uncertainty, and ensuring these get clarified and resolved. * Diligently maintaining documentation. * Excellent communication skills with clients, suppliers and the team. * Strong work ethic and team spirit. * Full UK Driving License.
