Due to growth, we are currently recruiting for a Commercial/Industrial Gas Engineer on behalf of a family-run Commercial and Industrial Heating company. Established over 50 years, they specialise in the food process sector and bakery industry. They also do work on factories, offices and warehouses.

The work involves servicing, fault finding, repairs, and installing various types of gas burners (forced draught/package and atmospheric on indirect and direct appliances), gas pipework, and associated gas equipment/controls. They focus on training engineers to meet theirs and their clients standards for the food industry with continual training programs in meeting current health and safety requirements and personal development.

This is a permanent role paying £40k - £45k per annum with OTE of £65k. Perks include van & fuel card (personal use allowed), door to door travel paid at overtime rates, annual bonus, on-call with standby payment, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, sick pay scheme, pension, death in service insurance, company phone & tablet.

We are looking for engineers along the M1 corridor between Leicester and Milton Keynes. This role is working Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. There may be occasions where you will be required to work away time to time.

Responsibilities:

  • Servicing, fault finding, repairs and installing various types of gas burners, gas pipe work and associated gas equipment / controls.
  • Planned preventative maintenance works.
  • Complete written reports to ensure trace-ability.
  • Working to relevant Health & Safety Practices while on site.
  • Ensure that any work carried out is compliant with relevant legislation and is in line with contract SLAs.
  • Be a part of the call out rota.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Valid Commercial Gas Qualifications.
  • Electrical qualifications/experience would be beneficial.
  • Experience in the industrial food process sector would be beneficial.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • The ability to work independently and use your own initiative.
  • An eye for detail and a desire to work to a very high standard.
  • Full UK Driving License.
